English languaje challenges

Imagen
Hi! this is the last post and I am going to talk about my experience in English class.  I really liked the english class in the faculty, but I would liked that it was in person, because that is more comfortable and useful for me. The use of blogs was very helpfull to me, because I needed to practice writing. So, now I need to talk more, because in the online classes I didn't feel confident for talking, so I think I'll be forced to answer in person! hahaha So, my plan is try to talk more in english with my friends, and in a near future, travel to so many countries that I'll have to use my english. In 2019 I traveled to morocco and germany, countries where the only thing in common to be able to communicate was english, and I realized that it was not as bad as I thought. Now, after 4 semesters of English, I feel that I am very prepared to be able to arrive in a country and manage much better than in 2019. Outside the english class, I use my english when I find an interestin...

Changes to my study programme

Hi, in this opportunity I will talk about the changes I would make in my study program to improve the quality of study for everyone. First of all I would change the end of the curriculum since we don't have professional practice outside of the student symphony orchestra, which we are 5 years there. I think we should have practice in a professional orchestra, perhaps an agreement with the national symphony orchestra of Chile, where the last year of university we could be part of it. In terms of infrastructure, I would change the building for a much more modern one, where all the rooms would have plenty of space, air conditioning and good grand pianos. We would have a bigger terrace and modern bathrooms. I would also like our auditorium to be bigger and more imposing, an auditorium where the whole community can enter, since at present our auditorium is small, and the whole student orchestra cannot fit on the stage. And finally, I would enable the dining room, since we have no...

The Ugly truth of my career

Imagen
My career is music interpretation, and it has benefits and downsides...  First of all, we need to understand that the world of music is very competitive and strict, and we're going to find all kinds of people, starting for the most humble person, to the most egocentric. My worst experience studying my instrument was in a youth orchestra. That was the last reharsal before the concert in a theater, I was around 15 years old and I had not studied an especific excerpt. The orchestra conductor realized that, and he forced me to play in front of my colleagues, I felt embarrased. Fortunately, apart from this conductor, all the teachers I have had have been very good and understanding.  In my student life, I try to sleep 8 hours at night, because if I sleep less I don feel good. The end of semester is verry stressing for all of us, in my personal oppinion, y try to keep my mental health good, so, if I am backdated in a subject, I strive only to finish it well, I don't push ...

The Best Vacation Ever

Imagen
Hi, this is my first blog in the second semester, and I going to talk about the best vacation I ever had. It wasn't a vacation, it was actually a musical tour with the youth national orchestra of Chile in August 2019. We went to Marruecos: Casablancas, Alemania: Kassel and Berlin, and España: El Escorial, and Alicante, this was a beutiful experience to me because I'd never travelled so far from Chile, and that was amazing. With the orchestra we played many concerts in each city, and we had days off where we could go around the city, go to the beach, go to the pool of the hotel, and partying.  I coudn’t choose the best city I liked the most, because they all had a different charms! It has the best vacation ever because since I sarted to play the violin, my dream was travelled doing music, and I had the opportunity to visit many cities and towns of Chile, but I never had the opportunity to visit other country, untill now.

Post 8: A subject you enjoy studying

Imagen
This is going to be very obvious, but I really enjoy studying violin. The main instrument course consists of a weekly individual violin lesson in which we see technical repertoire and concert repertoire. The habit of studying this instrument has become a path of self-knowledge for me, as every difficulty that has arisen I have had to deal with physically, and emotionally. In lessons I play along with my teacher the musical piece I am studying, he teaches me effective techniques for playing certain things, and he guides my path of self-discovery with the instrument. The contents we are currently looking at are finding my own version of what I want to express with the music, and solving technical difficulties such as chords, double strings, and tuning. I like these classes because I challenge myself to explore new ways of understanding the violin, and I also like them because I have to keep my mind clear and focused in order to achieve what I set out to do. I hope you enjoy my blogs...

Post 7: how can your major make the world a better place

I started to play violin because my mom thaught that it would make me more sociable, and she was right. I was very shy when I was a child, I couldn't speak in public, and the music made me have more confidence in myself. Music also brought me together with other people, taught me respect, taught me teamwork, and taught me to listen.  Thanks to playing an instrument I was able to travel, to know different realities, and that taught me that not everyone has the same opportunities in life. That's why I decided to study music: to bring this world closer to people who don't have access to it, to meet people's sensitivity, and to delight listeners. I also specialize in teaching methods for effective violin learning, and I hope I can pass this knowledge on to many people, and that it will be really meaningful for them since studying an instrument teaches you patience, perseverance, rigor, strengthens self-esteem, and connects you with your sensitivity.

Post 6: Who is a person/expert on your field that you admire?

Hilary Hahn Hilary Hahn was an early child prodigy who began her studies at the age of 4. Throughout her career she has given very important concerts and studied in great institutions. In 1996 she signed an exclusive contract with Sony Classical, with whom she has recorded 5 albums. Hilary decided not to renew her contract with Sony, and in 2003 she signed another exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, with whom she has recorded 4 albums to date. She is the winner of 3 grammy awards  I like the sound she produces, it's a consistent, clean sound, and you can tell the amount of study she's had. Her interpretations for me are precise and elegant, she doesn't abuse expressiveness, she's not exaggerated. She started a #100daysofpractic...
